Who wants a post about something silly and inconsequential and with no serious real-world implications at all?
Yeah, that’s what I thought. So let’s talk Thundercats.
The original Thundercats show ran from 1985-1989, and the reruns were the cornerstone “adventure cartoon whose main job is to be a long-form commercial for action figures” of my childhood. (You can keep your He-Men, She-Ras, or G.I.s Joe.)
It had a sweeping mix of magic and sci-fi! The women got their share of action scenes, and the men got their share of outfits that were basically skintight bathing suits! It has a genuinely memorable and evocative soundtrack! I liked cats! What’s not to love?
