Yuletide 2019 Letter

ErinPtah on the AO3, and here is my gift!fic wishlist this year.
General likes:
General DNWs:
Likes: Leon's accidental-found-family journey with D and Chris, from "I'm going to arrest you" to "please take care of my baby brother while I'm at work, here's some candy to make up for it, but I'm still going to arrest you." All the surreal and gorgeous imagery in the shop. The vampire subplots. Chris's friendships with the pets, especially Honlon.
Shippy or gen is fine, but please don't pair up D or Leon with anyone but each other. All my prompts lean toward the comedic parts of the series, but angst or drama is fine too. Just have a happy ending, okay?
Optional specific prompts:
- Word has gotten around that Leon is D's official Chosen Mate, so various mythical personages, creatures, former pets, etc. start showing up to evaluate his worthiness and put him through some tests. Naturally, nobody has explained what's going on to Leon. The more hijinks, the better.
- Show me some adventures with D adopting out crossover pets. Pokémon, magical Oz critters, Doctor Who/Futurama/Star Wars aliens, whatever you can make funny.
- Canon-divergence AU where D stuck around, he and Leon moved in together, and they kept raising Chris...and now he's a high school/college student, whose peers cannot figure out what his deal is. I'd love this one as an outsider-POV fic -- in which case, it would be okay if D and Leon were in the background, or never appeared directly at all. Just let us enjoy the wild speculation.

Likes: Dorothy coming into her own as a magic-user; Oz's magitech; Ozma having weird gender issues; diplomatic relationships with neighboring countries, especially Ev (Ozma of Oz) and the country of the Great Jinjin (Tik-Tok of Oz); Toto's deep nonverbal connection with Dorothy; Scraps, Polychrome, the Glass Cat, Eureka, and the Woozy.
Shippy or gen is fine, but please don't pair up Dorothy or Ozma with anyone but each other. I did a major Baum reread a few years ago; there are reaction posts on my land-of-Oz tag. Feel free to mine that for other canon feelings/potential story hooks.
Optional specific prompts:
- Dorothy/Ozma wedding fic. If Ozma's birthday was a book-defining event, the Royal Wedding of Oz must be even more extravagant. What are the Oz traditions here? What elements do Henry and Em suggest from Kansas-style weddings? How many more different magical countries (maybe from crossover series -- Narnia, Labyrinth, Wonderland, Arendelle) send guests? Who tries and fails to crash the party?
- A mini-adventure with Dorothy and the Patchwork Girl. Something that shows off how Scraps has brains as good as the Scarecrow, she's just a lot more whimsical in how she uses them.
- Dorothy goes back to the US for a visit (maybe to see all-grown-up Cousin Zeb? or his descendants?), and it's nothing but culture clashes now that she's grown up with Oz norms. Extra bonus points if she brings Ozma, who has it even worse.
Likes: Murderbot having a psyche that works differently from human brains -- not that it's better or worse, just distinctly non-human. Murderbot constantly making itself responsible for groups of earnest, good-hearted, squishy humans. Competence kink. The relatability of just wanting to be left alone to watch TV.
No shipping for Murderbot, please. With anyone else, go wild.

- Murderbot gets involved in the fandom for one of its favorite shows. Turns out someone is using fandom activities as a cover for serious abuse/scamming/manipulation -- think Andy Blake style -- and Murderbot uncovers the scheme, because it's always unwillingly stumbling over problems like that, and reluctantly swoops to the rescue.
- Snowed-in-at-the-cabin fic with Murderbot and a human or two. (Pick your favorite sympathetic character(s) from the books, or make some OCs.) Nothing too traumatic, please, but it's fun if they have to do some scrambling and jerry-rigging to keep things going until they get rescued.
...okay, this is the shortest and newest-to-me fandom on my list, so I'm out of prompts already. If this is the one we matched on, it doesn't mean I'll like the fic less, I promise.
