(...I've never spent money on a Sanderson book in my life, but there are other people in his demographic that I'm a fan of, whose books I expect to keep buying.)
And they definitely spend most of their energy supporting and uplifting the work of queer/POC/non-dude creators. This ragging on Sanderson's fans is a tiny detour, not their whole deal.
There are plenty of legitimate problems with the Mormon church, but somehow I don't think "refusing to buy the books of one (1) popular SFF author" is an effective path to reforming them. Just a hunch.
