I've used a peripheral USB optical drive before, so that's always an option...guess we'll find out whether I feel the need to buy one after Old Laptop gives up the ghost.

Turns out the power cord can plug into any of the USB-C ports, which is pretty handy! I switched it to the other side, and now it's a much less tempting target for Executive Assistant's noms.
