...that is fascinating, and would explain a lot.

To be honest, at first when people started saying "two weeks of food" I imagined this vague large heap of groceries -- maybe enough to fill a dangerously-overflowing shopping cart? Enough for a pretty large family, for sure. But once it became a non-theoretical thing, I stopped to think it over and worked out a concrete idea of what I'd actually have to shop for :/
