Yuletide 2018 Letter

ErinPtah on the AO3, and here is my wishlist this year.
General likes:
General DNWs:
Likes: D/Leon in all their weird awkward culture-clashing glory. Leon's journey from "I'm going to arrest you" to "please take care of my baby brother while I'm at work, here's some candy to make up for it, but I'm still going to arrest you." All the surreal and gorgeous imagery in the shop. The vampire subplots. Chris's friendships with the pets, especially Honlon.
Specific prompts:
- Word has gotten around that Leon is D's chosen mate, so various mythical personages, creatures, former pets, etc. start showing up to evaluate his worthiness and possibly put him through some tests. Naturally, nobody has explained what's going on to Leon. The more hijinks, the better.
- Show me some adventures with D adopting out crossover pets. Pokémon, magical Oz critters, Doctor Who/Futurama/Star Wars aliens, whatever. (If you write D into the backstory of Grumpy Cat, I will love you forever.) (Combination prompt with Fake News FPF: if you write "Stephen" as a pet that D adopts out to Jon, or vice versa, I will also love you forever.)
- Chris and Honlon weren't in the tagset, but if you're inspired to write them, I would be delighted with a fic about the two of them going on a quest together. Or, more likely, Honlon setting out on a quest and Chris getting nervously dragged along. D and Leon can be involved, or just be gobsmacked when they find out about it after-the-fact.
Likes: Canon-typical humor. The magical surrealism of the Colbert Report universe. Hurt/comfort where "Stephen" goes through something horrible and Jon is there to support him. Role reversals where "Stephen" has to be the more put-together one in order to protect Jon.
Jon/"Stephen" is one of the OTPs of my heart. You can write pretty much anything with them -- fluffy, angsty, sweet, dysfunctional, canon-based, AU, whatever -- and I'll be thrilled. (I did a Jon/"Stephen" mini-primer a while back, though the video links are probably all broken by now.)
Specific prompts:
- Jon/"Stephen" total setting AU. Fantasy, cyberpunk, Greek gods, Steven-Universe-style Gems (I have type suggestions!)...what does "Stephen" in this universe have Poorly-Informed But Firm and Unchangeable convictions about? And how does Jon fall in love in spite of himself?
- De-aging! Either "Stephen" gets turned into a kid and Jon gets a firsthand look at the childhood origins of a lot of his neuroses and maladaptions...or Jon gets turned into a kid and "Stephen" finds himself in the super-awkward position of having to be the mature and restrained one. Bonus points if there's a specific magical cause for the de-aging, and they have to work together to fix it, while trying to sort out this altered dynamic.
- Sexy fluff with Jon and "Stephen" enjoying their retirement in a cabin in the woods, far away from the news. Kink appreciated. (Canon indicates that "Stephen" is a kinky sub with the safeword "pumpkin patch," who likes bondage, spanking, costumes, collars, taking orders, praise, acting like a puppy, and that's just off the top of my head. At this point, they should be able to have a good time with minimal negotiation.)
Note: This one has 10+ volumes in print, and the free webcomic version is currently in the middle of volume 5.
Likes: The wacky superhero-parody humor. Emp being all scared and self-conscious and gutsy and determined, getting back up after every humiliating defeat and going out to save people again, because that's who she is. Everything about Mindf**k, and her angsty secret romance with Spooky. Emp and Spooky's slow torturous development into sorta-friends. (I don't actually ship those two, but if you do, feel free to use this opportunity to sell me on it.)
Specific prompts:
- Fixit fic for Emp and Spooky's hell-dimension mission. Would love some focus on how weird and difficult the recovery is, but ultimately with a happy ending.
- AU where, instead of Spooky misjudging Emp, they're friends and allies from the beginning. (Basically she's in Ninjette's role. But I don't want Ninjette getting flipped into an antagonist...just let her be BFFs with someone else, possibly off-page.) So she's still her prickly closed-off self, but she'll open up to Emp occasionally, maybe confess when she falls for Mindf**k. And of course, when Emp is losing a fight, she'll appear in the most dramatic way possible to have her back.
- Pre-canon or early-in-canon: Emp's suit is doing another new weird thing, and the best person to teach her how to use it is...Spooky! Awkwardness, bonding, and Spooky getting invested-in-spite-of-herself in the mysteries of Emp's powers.
- Happy polyamory fic with both Spooky/Mindf**k and Mindf**k/Emp. (You can go romantic with the Spooky-Emp leg of the triangle too, or leave it platonic.) I already like the contrast between Spooky's obstinacy versus Emp's shyness and insecurity, and it's fascinating to see how Mindf**k with her powerset approaches both of those. So just put that all together in the same fic, and make it twice as gay.
